Westville organization owner arrested for providing stolen vehicle areas

The operator of a Westville business was arrested on a demand of corruption just after a sheriff’s office investigation uncovered that he was advertising stolen automobile parts.

William T. Scott, 52, of Kouts, operator of Catalytic Exchange in Westville, was arrested June 10, 2021, right after a big-scale investigation, in accordance to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Business office.

The investigation started out Could 5 when deputies responded to a Clinton Township residence on a report of a burglary in development. Following abide by-up interviews, investigators figured out that stolen car areas had been becoming taken to a La Porte County organization and then bought. Detectives from the Prison Investigations Division (CID) identified the organization as Catalytic Trade, located in the 5600 south block of U.S. 421.
