Tesla could possibly be opening a showroom and provider heart in Mishawaka

With an undisclosed “high-end” electric automobile maker hunting to open a showroom and company heart in Mishawaka, some nearby inhabitants imagine all the indicators position to a single business: Tesla.

The Mishawaka Program Commission voted 4-3 this week in favor of a proposal by a Chicago-centered developer to change the previous JC Penney Home Retail store, at Grape and Cleveland roads, into a 36,000-square-foot automotive facility.

Chris Sotos, a representative of Key Enhancement Companions, advised the commission his enterprise has a contract to buy the website from its regional operator and lease it to the car enterprise.

Sotos did not name the prospective tenant but described it as a “high-conclusion electric powered vehicle, solar ability and renewable energy” enterprise.

A rendering of a proposed electric car showroom and service center planned for Mishawaka.

When The Tribune questioned regardless of whether that tenant would be Tesla, Mishawaka Metropolis Planner Ken Prince reported the developer had not disclosed that details to the town.

But some elements of the system are steady with the luxurious manufacturer founded by multi-billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk.

Nate Hoover, a California native who lives on Timberland Travel, just west of the website, explained he seemed at renderings of the proposed car centre and right away identified it.
