Dining car or truck services returns for some on Southwest Chief

Amtrak will restore regular dining-automobile support for sleeping-car passengers on its western long-length routes, which includes the Southwest Chief, as of June 23, providing “chef-ready foods for breakfast, lunch, and meal.”

It restores services changed in April 2020 by pre-ready meals as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coach passengers will proceed to be confined to Café dining, which is also available to sleeping-car or truck passengers.

Amtrak claims it will also update its Café menu this summer with the addition of extra fresh new choices.

In a Wednesday press release, the passenger railroad promised “a redesigned menu” and table service with glassware, cutlery, and linen tablecloths.

The revamped menu consists of picks for kids, new appetizers, and a complimentary alcoholic drink with supper.

Ceramic dishware, which the railroad moved absent from in favor of disposable things above the past quite a few yrs, will be added later this calendar year.
